Dr. John Flackett awarded Honorary Doctor of Science

AiLab are extremely proud to announce that our co-founder, Dr. John Flackett, has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science from Southampton Solent University in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Artificial Intelligence & education. Working in AI for 30 years, John first discovered his passion for AI as an undergraduate achieving a 1st-class BSc (Hons) Computer Studies, followed by a PgC Research, a PhD in AI & a Senior Lecturer teaching AI. John went on to co-found AiLab that helps organisations become AI-ready. John leads the AiLab workshops & supervises AI PhD students. Dr. John Flackett: AI guest lecture for MBA students at AUT

Fantastic for our Head of AiLab, Dr, John Flackett, to return again this year to give a guest lecture on Artificial Intelligence to MBA students at Auckland University of Technology studying Co-ignition: Creative Thinking & Innovation in the AUT Business School. John spoke about using AI for product design, innovation, marketing & discussed building AI-based systems responsibly, as well as how to mitigate some of the risks around privacy, IP & bias. The Q&A session included questions about philosophy of the mind, machine consciousness, humans in the workplace & possible future AI developments.
