National Artificial Intelligence Strategies
AiLab is proud to present our latest research into National Artificial Intelligence Strategies from around the world. The global landscape around AI strategies is ever changing as countries race to embrace the opportunities AI technologies offer, so the information provided is continually updated.
NOTE: This data is small part of an ongoing AiLab research project.
What defines a National AI Strategy?
At AiLab, we focused on countries that have developed and released a stand-alone National Artificial Intelligence Strategy as part of the country’s economic and/or well-being plan.
“The National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy... spells out our plans to deepen our use of AI technologies to transform our economy, going beyond just adopting technology, to fundamentally rethinking business models and making deep changes to reap productivity gains and create new areas of growth.” [Smart Nation Singapore]
We've categorised countries' AI initiatives into 'Released', 'Planned' and 'Other'. Only AI initiatives that meet the definition of a strategy (i.e., a plan of action with defined goals and objectives) have been classified as a National AI Strategy in this research. Many strategies are still in the planning stage or include Artificial Intelligence as part of a wider digital strategy.
